![]() Universal Sample Splitters Designed for larger volume samples of raw coal or bulk aggregates, fine gravel and sand, fine aggregates and powders. A model with a removable hopper to assist cleaning and an enclosed design splitter are also available. Riffle splitters are commonly used in mining. The sample then produces two equally divided subsamples. Sample splitters and dividers provide representative samples of the original or bulk material. Riffle-Type Sample Splitters Several models are available for small to medium material samples. In the riffle splitter, the sample is poured from a pan, into a battery of twenty open chambers which are so arranged that any two adjacent chambers permit the material to flow out towards two different sides. A square of paper is cut into an octagon (by getting a second identical square, centering it over the original, then rotating it 45 degrees cut off the exposed parts of the underlying original). Riffle Box types: Sample Splitter Type RT 6. Gerlach (2002) describes a simple paper cone riffle splitter (figure 1a) constructed from a piece of paper with a few Orgami folds. They are well recognized in the industry and, when used properly, they provide good accuracy. The Riffle Splitter comes with three buckets which can be used to drop and catch the sample from both sides. Replacement Parts are not included in the price of the main device (unless stated otherwise) and may be purchased separately if required. Riffle Sample Splitters are universally used for rapid and economical sample division. These Splitters consist of a stainless steel hopper with a manually actuated flow gate, stainless steel and anodized aluminum riffle bank, and stainless steel frame with support legs. ![]() Micro and Precision Riffle Splitter features ![]() A hopper, with a manual control gate, receives the material to be split, then upon opening the gate, the material flows through a series of equally divided compartments of chutes, sending 50% of the sample to the left side pan and 50% of the sample to the right side pan. To meet the growing demand for a low-cost riffle sampler, Sepor is pleased to include sheet metal fabricated units in its line. Micro and Precision Riffle Splitter (Jones-type) is designed to reduce bulk material into a convenient representative sample for laboratory analysis. ![]()
